PUNO TOUR”, 3 DAYS & 2 NIGHTS:
ROUTE DESCRIPTION PUNO OPTION I
Day 1: CUSCO – PUNO.
At 8:30 in the morning we pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and take the bus to Puno.At 3 PM we arrive in Puno, where you may stay in a three star hotel such as the Vargas Inn. The afternoon is free to wander the city and look around.
Day 2: UROS –TAQUILE-AMANTANI-PUNO (this is a 2 day, 1 night outing).
We leave at 7:40 AM. The bus picks up passengers at their respective hotels and at 8 AM you board a motorized launch in the port of Puno which speeds to the Uros Islands. After 30 minutes you arrive at the islands and spend about an hour visiting a two islands. What is more, you have the chance to see the museums of plants and animals of Lake Titicaca, and there will be time to buy locally made artisan crafts. Back on the boat, we head to Amantani, where we arrive at midday.
Passengers will be greeted and invited to different family houses at 2 PM. After lunch you will have the chance to see the islanders’ traditional lifestyle. In spite of the advancement of modernity the islanders still wear their traditional clothes and preserve their culture. In the evening you dine with them and participate in the ceremonies they perform, view the artisan exhibition and authentic dances they perform, and finally bed down for the night in a family house on the island.
At 7 breakfast is served and at 8 in the morning you depart Amantani and arrive forty minutes later at Taquile. We take a trail that takes approximately 40 minutes to hike up to the small town of Taquile. In the main square there is an artisan collective that sells handicrafts. Between noon and 1 PM you may have lunch with your tour group. Drinks and bottled water are expensive on the island and it is recommended you bring your own. At 1:30 we continue up the path to the summit and then head down to a small sheltered port, where we take the boat back to Puno.Day 3: AMANTANI –TAQUILE -PUNO.
In the afternoon you may leave Puno and return to Cusco or travel onwards to Arequipa, Lima, La Paz or other destinations. Tell us if you wish to continue onwards–we can help you secure tickets. If you have time to stay in Puno, you could visit Sillustani or other interesting places near the city.
